Located in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Central Virginia Small Business Center (CV SBDC) is one of 29
centers across Virginia providing professional business consulting,
training and information resources to help grow and strengthen
Virginia businesses.
The CV SBDC offers free business consulting services, assists with
feasibility studies and business planning, sponsors seminars and
training, and provides information and other services to area small and
mid-sized businesses. The center is hosted by The Thomas Jefferson
Partnership for Economic Development.
The Central Virginia SBDC serves the City of Charlottesville and the Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson,

The CV SBDC receives programmatic and financial support from the U.
S, Small Business Administration, George Mason University, James Madison
University, The Thomas Jefferson Partnership for Economic Development,
the University of Virginia, Louisa County, Fluvanna County and the
Nelson County Economic Development Authority and the Greene County
Economic Development County.
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is partially funded
under a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business
Administration. The support given by the U.S. Small
Business Administration through such funding does not constitute
an expressed or implied endorsement of the co-sponsor(s)' or
participants' opinions,
products or services. All SBDC programs are nondiscriminatory

Peer Advisory Groups Now Forming!
The CV SBDC new peer advisory program, Business Advantage
Circles, is now accepting applications for membership
Unlike a networking group, this new program provides a
confidential, non-competitive forum for problem solving, sharing
best practices, and, ultimately, contributing to the success of
members’ businesses. Each
circle, which is comprised of up to 8 business owners,
prioritizes issues for the group to address and develops
solutions that can be utilized.
A facilitator assists the Circle and brings in experts as
needed.
Circles help take the isolation of out of ownership; fill
in weaknesses and share strengths; and help the owner manage the
business.
Circles meet monthly for 2 hours.
The fee is $90/month and discounts are available to area
Chamber of Commerce members and other designated organizations.
